Over the years there has been an increasing number of Association & Not For Profit Organisations set up to meet the needs of the Community. But despite their good intentions, many of these Organisations and their Officers have found themselves at risk of expensive litigation arising from the provision of their services to their members or the public. With the increased cost and frequency of litigation and frequent changes to legislation; Organisations, Associations and their Officers cannot afford to operate without the protection of a suitable insurance program. A Healthcare  Association Liability – Not for Profit policy is designed to protect both the assets of the Association or Organisation and their Officers.

Policy Overview

The Medisure Healthcare Association Liability policy can cover:

  • Professional Indemnity Cover – claims that might arise from the provision of your services, by your staff, to your member or the public, including bodily injury and property damage.
  • Directors & Officers Cover – claims that might arise from a wrongful act committed by a Director or Officer of the Organisation or Association, while performing their role as a company Director or Officer.
  • Entity Cover – claims that might arise where the Association’s or Organisations Entity is named because of a wrongful act committed by a Person insured by the policy.
  • Volunteers – the policy extends cover to your volunteers for their activities.
  • Employment Practices Liability Cover – cover for claims that arise from an employment dispute. e.g.: discrimination, wrongful dismissal, workplace harassment (whether sexual or otherwise), breach of an implied term of an oral or written employment contract, failure to promote, wrongful dismissal, etc.
  • Fines & Penalties Cover – to the extent permitted by law, up to $100,000 for specific fines and penalties. E.G Trade Practices Act 1974, Privacy Act 1988, Corporations Act 2001, Associations Incorporations Act, Occupational Health & Safety legislation of any State/Territory of Australia.
  • Fidelity Cover – $50,000 for any loss of money, negotiable instruments, bearer bonds or coupons, stamps, bank or currency notes belonging to the Organisation sustained by reason of any dishonest, fraudulent, malicious or illegal act or omission of any organisation employee, volunteer or director.
  • Taxation Investigation Cover – $10,000 to assist in meeting your accountants and tax agents professional fees in the event of receiving an Australian Taxation Office Notice regarding your liability to pay income tax, GST, Sales Tax etc.
  • Automatic Reinstatement of the sum insured
